oil on canvas, 18" x 24", gift
Often, Jennie, her father and I wandered through paths in the forest. Occasionally, I had a chance to pause behind them and watch as they were completely engrossed in the close examination of nature. It was one of my favorite vantage points for reflecting on Jennie’s growth. Along many paths and the length of numerous beaches, I have marveled at this sight, watching her grow from the baby in a carrier on our backs, through all the stages to a sure footed young lady – watching the gap in daughter’s height and father’s height diminish with time. – Treasuring the quality of this time spent together.
